Logan Circle
The community of Logan Circle is located in northwest Washington, D.C. east of Dupont Circle. Like its neighbor, the community surrounds the traffic circle of the same name – found at the intersection of 13th Street, P Street, Rhode Island Avenue, and Vermont Avenue. The circle was named after John Logan, a Civil War general and U.S. senator, and a monument was erected in the federal park, inside the traffic circle, in his honor.
Though Logan Circle is surrounded by many older homes, the neighborhood was revitalized in the late 1900s with help from businesses moving into the area. Art galleries, restaurants, a live theater, a grocery store, and a variety of other shops can be found on or along 14th Street, drawing residents and tourists alike to the multitude of shopping and dining opportunities.
