Kenwood: Life Is Sweet Among The Legendary Cherry Trees

Born of highlands and hills, abandoned farms and woodlands, Kenwood emerged from what had been part of the Friendship land grant. The Kennedy-Chamberlin Development Company planted over 1,000 cherry trees before the first house in Kenwood was built. Today, those trees welcome thousands to the curving streets of Kenwood during the April week when the blossoms turn pink and create a display that Southern Living magazine described as “breathtaking.” Located in the most western part of Chevy Chase, Kenwood is bounded by Little Falls Parkway, River Road, Bradley Boulevard and Kenwood Country Club. Chevy Chase expert and resident of nearby Rollingwood, Melinda Estridge can help you find the perfect Kenwood property.
